EASTERN CAPE LIQUOR BOARD IS EXTREMELY CONCERNED WITH MONIES THAT LIQUOR TRADERS WRONGLY PAY INTO ITS BANK ACCOUNT RESULTING IN UNALLOCATED FUNDS

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) has, over the past three years, been concerned with the increasing number of fee payments that are made into its bank account and cannot be allocated. The ECLB continues to experience the same problem in this year. The unallocated payments are as a result of the following forms of transactions:

Payment made in respect of lodgement fee applicable when lodging a new application for a liquor licence without submitting the application forms and providing ID number as a reference which is not recognised by the ECLB licencing system.

Over-payment made by a licence holder in respect of an applicable fee for the renewal of liquor licence.

Short-payment made by a licence holder in respect of an applicable fee for the renewal of a liquor licence.

Payment made by a licence holder in respect of an applicable fee for the renewal of a liquor licence using a wrong and unrecognised ECP REFERENCE number.

Payment of an applicable registration fee for a licence application whose processing has not been finalised.

Payment of an applicable fee in respect of an appeal, removal or transfer of a liquor licence without submitting the relevant application lodgement documentation.

We, therefore, urge all liquor traders and potential liquor licence applicants that may be affected by this situation to visit or urgently contact ECLB offices.
