Reminder: Renewal of Liquor Licenses from 01 October to 31 December 2024.

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board is reminding all licensed liquor traders to renew their licenses between October 1 and December 31, 2024. If you miss this deadline, don't worry, you can still renew in January or February of the following year, but be aware that late renewal fees will apply - 50% in January and 100% in February.

Renewing your liquor license is crucial to avoid deregistration and potential legal issues. In fact, failure to renew can lead to illegal trading, which undermines the Board's efforts to combat unauthorized liquor trade in the province.

Key Renewal Details:

  • Renewal Period: October 1 - December 31, 2024
  • Late Fee (January 2025): 50% of normal registration fee
  • Late Fee (February 2025): 100% of normal registration fee

Currently, there are 7,611 active liquor licenses, and the Board expects all licence holders to renew their licenses. In the previous renewal period (2023/2024), 7,143 liquor traders (93.83%) successfully renewed their licenses.

Remember, stay compliant and renew your liquor license on time to avoid any complications!
